Thanksgiving at the BC Corral

This was a first for us: we went "out" for Thanksgiving dinner.

Our daughter was off to her boyfriend's relatives' dinner, so it was just the two of us old folks at home.

All the prep and cooking that goes into a Thanksgiving dinner just didn't appeal to me.

So we went to.... (drum roll)... the Baker City Truck Corral!

Isn't that classic, with the lights out on a couple of letters?!

We've lived in Baker City for 9-1/2 years, but had never eaten at the truck stop.

Inside, we were greeted by this sign:

And a little sign on the table gave us the details:

We knew we were going to have the turkey dinner, but we looked at the menu for future reference. Here's the menu cover:

The dinner itself was actually quite delicious.

We had our server snap a photo of the two of us, but even with the flash, it's still pretty dark.  Still, we have photo evidence that we were there!

They had advertised pumpkin or pecan pie for dessert, but they ran out of pumpkin. That left pecan pie - here's the remnants of Jerry's slice. Notice that it was served on an elegant black plastic plate!

I am thankful that the folks at the Truck Corral were willing to fix a nice Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm even more thankful that I didn't have to!
