Philothea on Phire

"You aim at a devout life, dear Philothea, because as a Christian you know that such devotion is most acceptable to God's Divine Majesty," says St. Francis de Sales in his book "Introduction to the Devout Life". And we can all be Philotheas, as St. Francis notes: "I have made use of a name suitable to all who seek the devout life, Philothea meaning one who loves God."

About Me

My Photo
Jay Boyd
I live in Baker City, Oregon, with my husband and daughter. I care deeply about the liturgy, and pray ardently for the "reform of the reform". I think we've strayed far from our Catholic identity over the last 50 years, and we need to return to the traditional teachings of the Church in order to regain lost ground.

I was received into the Catholic Church on March 30, 2002.

A Little More About Me

I was received into the Church in 2002. I came into the Church because of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. It is noteworthy that I became Catholic IN SPITE of the music, and not because of it!

See my conversion story here.

I live in Northeastern Oregon with my husband, Jerry, and our daughter, Ruthie.

Read my husband's book!

Read my husband's book!
This isn't a book about Catholic issues, but it's a great read, even for someone who's not into law enforcement stuff.
